We had an amazing time on Halloween and we hope you did too. The costume contest was our first try at this sort of thing and in general it went well. Thank you so much to the people who sent us pictures and who showed up on Halloween.
All of you were very creative and accurate with your costumes, and since we didn't have very many entries, I'm happy to let you know that all participants won a free two hours of gameplay! Bring and ID in to game haven to play for free. Gabe has a list of all participant names.
Game Haven's first week open was a lot of fun! We really enjoyed seeing all of your beautiful faces and hope you keep coming in. This week we got in the start of some of our new merchandise. Here are some pictures. What do you think?
As many of you may know, we have signed the lease for the property at 2518 Woodson Road, next to the Medicine Shoppe and Localite Shopper. We will be doing a lot of cleaning and painting over the next few days, plans include murals and drop ceilings galore. Here are a whole bunch of "BEFORE" pictures, so you can be really impressed with what we do with the place "AFTER".
You may have also heard that Gabe talked to a reporter for the Post Dispatch (click HERE for the article) after the city council meeting, which was very exciting! We won't have pool (for that you'll have to visit our friends at Cue and Cushion) but other than that minor edit, the rest of the article is solid. We are so grateful for the support of the council members and the other community leaders in attendance at that meeting, and the support of our friends and family who have already offered so much. If all the remodeling goes smoothly, we are looking to be open by September of 2013. Keep visiting this site for information on a grand opening party.
We'd love to hear any questions or comments here or on facebook!
We greatly appreciate all the interest that has been shown in Game Haven so far and all of the patience you have had with us as we make our way through the paperwork and the city meetings. Expect more updates throughout the summer. July 10th we will be going in front of the Overland City Planning and Zoning Board to iron out the details concerning our business hours and hopefully by then we will have an opening date.
Thanks again for the support!
